26 Jan 2021  -  14 Dec 2021

We are pleased to present our Employment events programme for 2021. As this “new normal” will be with us for the foreseeable future, we have embraced the flexibility of running our events virtually.

From 9:30am until 10:30am

At Via Zoom

Our events will mostly take place on the 4th Tuesday in each month at 9.30am, with the exception of dates during the school holidays.

As in previous years, our programme is made up of a mixture of formal and informal presentations and interactive HR Power Hours. We will be pushing the boundaries of technology so you can get the most out of our sessions from your home desk/kitchen table!

Formal Events
We have three sessions in February, May and October led by one of our senior employment solicitors. They will take an in-depth look at the topic and take questions using the chat function.  A link to the recorded presentation and slides will be available after the session.

HR Power Hours
The remainder of our programme is made up of our infamous HR Power Hours where we facilitate group discussions, networking and profile building, in our solicitor-led discussions.

Join us as we develop the world of virtual sessions into something much more interactive, to enable you to get the most out of each session.

This session will be packed with hints and tips on how to manage difficult employees in order to get the outcome you need. Power hour : Managing disputes in the workplace
Tuesday 27th July 10.30am

Whether or not employees are being difficult, disputes can and do arise in the workplace. Whilst you may have experience of dealing with 'run of the mill' disciplinary and grievance matters, it starts to get a bit more complex when there is no misconduct as such, just an inexplicable dispute. In this session we will talk you through the best ways to deal with disputes that arise at work, how to manage your employer’s duty of care to all employees (which can often be a challenge) and provide you with some alternative solution based ideas for tackling disputes at work. This will empower you to hit these matters head on, rather than letting them fester, and cause damage to the workplace.
