The last 6 months have been far from what we all expected, or could have predicted even in our wildest dreams. We are glad to pick back up on something familiar to everyone – our flagship employment law event in October. Always the highlight of our calendar, this year it will look a little different, but you will still get the same informative and entertaining content from the team. Now that we have all got our heads around the complex concepts that presented themselves to us earlier this year, in particular the F-word (furlough!) it is a good time to take stock and book yourself and your business in for a bit of a health check. It is that concept that we are focusing on in our event this year
From 9:30am until 11:00am
At Via Zoom
As with any good MOT, we will have a quick look under the bonnet to see how your business has coped with the last 6 months or more – what are the learnings that you should take from the last few months. What do you need to retain, and act on? Now that we are out of the stress it’s really important to take this time and we will talk you through the main pointers that you should be keeping hold of to learn from and (where applicable) implement. So you will leave with a useful list of pointers that you need to work on, implement or simply just retain. In this section, we will also focus on how these learnings can assist if we do face a further lockdown, whether national or local.
We will then move on to turn our attention to the future. Still with a Covid influence, what do you need to be aware of. This will include contracts of employment, lay off and redundancies, to name a few, but the purpose of this section is to ensure preparedness for you and your business. Whilst Covid has taken over the main landscape of employment law, there are still a few non-Covid related, but still very important, changes on the horizon. We will take you through these – what they are and what you need to do to ensure your business is ready.
Finally, it would be remiss of us not to include the much acclaimed case law update. Presented in her usual engaging style, Rachel will take us through the cases of note over the last few months and, most importantly, what they mean for your business.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions at the webinar, but if you do have any before the day, please send them by email to michele.jellings@geldards.com.
You will leave the session with order in your brain, enabling you to learn from the last few months, put it into practice to better your business, and still be ready so no employment law changes catch you out. We can’t give you an MOT certificate at the end of the session, but we will send you some useful materials, summarising everything we present to you, as a take away.
We look forward to welcoming you to the session.
