As the number of Covid cases has started to reduce in England, the Department of Health and Social Care issued new guidance to those who are shielding and clinically vulnerable on 17 March 2021. The new guidance indicates that as of 01 April 2021, clinically vulnerable people will no longer be advised to shield and so will not be eligible for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). The advice to those individuals is still to work from home where they can, or if not they should attend work. Guidance has once again been issued to employers about how to make the workplace “Covid secure”.
